Lincoln’s Member of Parliament rejects call for the closure of Lincoln Prison

A call  by a “Lincoln-based” criminal justice consultant and ex-prison governor that if he was in Government he would close HMP Lincoln because it was not fit for purpose has been condemned by Karl McCartney MP, Lincoln’s Member of Parliament. The consultant has previously campaigned for building large 3,000 inmate prisons to replace local prisons.

The 2016 Lincoln Jobs Fair, organised by the City's MP Karl McCartney, on Friday 12 February at the Assembly Rooms in Bailgate saw 33 local and national exhibitors with job opportunities come together and meet hundreds of local jobseekers.

Karl expresses great disappointment in draft European Union Deal

Following the announcement by the Government of the draft European Union Deal, Karl said; “The draft European Union Deal is a great disappointment. It does not go anywhere near far enough in addressing the fundamental change that I, and I believe the vast majority of my Constituents in Lincoln, want over the way the European Union currently operates now, let alone in the future".
