The 2016 Lincoln Jobs Fair, organised by the City's MP Karl McCartney, on Friday 12 February at the Assembly Rooms in Bailgate saw 33 local and national exhibitors with job opportunities come together and meet hundreds of local jobseekers.
The event which has now become a regular part of the city’s business calendar was open to all jobseekers including those looking to retrain, change career, gain a place back on the job ladder or even start work for the first time.
There were also a wide range of retailers, care homes, engineering firms, driving schools, training organisations, the health service and colleges all showing how keen they are to recruit local talent.
Key sponsors and exhibitors at the event included Siemens, Kisimul School, Lagat Ltd, Riseholme College, Interserve Healthcare, Linwave Technology, Raytheon UK, Walnut Care and Bluebird Care.
BBC Radio Lincolnshire also spent a full hour broadcasting from the event, interviewing employers and jobseekers. Both Lincs FM and Lincoln City Radio also covered the event.
Lincoln Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP, said: “Each annual Jobs Fair has improved in various ways especially as we are seeing a wider range and size of employers together in one place to find talented local people wanting to take up the opportunities they have.
“There were plenty of jobs on offer and I saw many people of all ages and backgrounds applying and signing up for interviews, training courses and Apprenticeships. Once again, there were queues forming outside which showed how keen people were.
“These Job Fairs are all about giving a real boost and opportunity to the lives and careers of people across Lincoln and the whole County, as well as ensuring local organisations can look to recruit locally too.”
