Karl has welcomed news that recorded crime in Lincolnshire has fallen once again over the last twelve months. Latest figures from the independent Office for National Statistics show that since 2010 recorded crime in Lincolnshire has fallen by 18 per cent.

Since the 2010 General Election we have seen, and welcomed, levels of unemployment falling in Lincoln.Now the Government has taken further steps to help create an environment for economic growth with cuts to corporation tax; limiting national insurance contributions for young workers; and also increasing Personal Allowances up to £10,000 from this April.These moves should be welcomed wholeheartedly as we also see a positive trend in youth unemployment. However, I recognise that there are many young people who are still looking for work.

Karl ‘takes a step’ against prejudice by signing Holocaust Memorial Day Book of Commitment

Marking Holocaust Memorial Day this week, Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP, signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment in the House of Commons, honouring those who died during the Holocaust as well as honouring the extraordinary Holocaust survivors who work tirelessly to educate young people about what they endured.

£31,817,222 for new school places in Lincolnshire

Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP, has welcomed the news that the Government has announced an extra £2.35 billion to create more school places. This is in addition to the £5 billion that is already being spent in this Parliament. This means that between 2014 and 2017 schools in Lincolnshire will receive £31,817,222. This is part of the Government’s long-term plan to give every young person the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
