I can appreciate that it is difficult to find a job if you are unaware of the opportunities out there or haven’t been in work for some time.
That is why I am organising The Jobs Fair at the Assembly Rooms in Lincoln on Friday, February 14, to offer people in our city who are looking for work an opportunity to meet and speak with local employers.
This Jobs Fair will be for anyone, whatever age, school and college leavers, undergraduates or potential apprentices who are looking to improve their skills and employment prospects.
It will also offer the opportunity for those already in work who are seeking a career change, or the opportunity to enhance their work and professional skills through further training. I am a firm believer that there should never be a limit on anyone’s aspiration, and further that as a nation we should firmly embrace lifelong learning.
The Jobs Fair will advertise current and future vacancies in local firms and will also offer guidance on how to gain entry into particular sectors by providing seminars and one-to-one advice for people seeking work.
Of course if you are a local employer and have yet to register an interest in The Jobs Fair it is not too late to be involved and details are provided on the website listed below.
I recognise the wider economic recovery is dependent on SME’s and we need to see these businesses continue to prosper.
I believe that the fair I am hosting will also provide employers with a venue to connect with potential employees who might not have otherwise been aware of the opportunities available in the local economy in and around my constituency of Lincoln.
The fair will run from 10am to 3pm, however if you are interested in attending I would encourage you to arrive early to maximise your interviewing time and allow you to meet as many potential employers as possible.
I would also urge you to look at the dedicated website for this event which provides details of the companies who are attending so you can better tailor your CV: http://www.lincolnjobsfair.com/
I am sure that this event will be useful to my constituents and I do hope that if you are looking for work that you decide to join us at The Assembly Rooms.
I would also add that we will have courtesy coaches running to the event during the day to enable anyone to access the venue and opportunities on offer and further details will be posted on the website provided above.
