Local Hartsholme Ward Councillors, Cllr. David Clarkson and Cllr Rachel Storer took the opportunity to show Karl the new additions to the Hartsholme Park facilities recently.
While Hartsholme Country Park has a good range of play equipment for young children, the Park Advisory Group realised that more was needed for teenagers.
It was thought that a ‘Teen Shelter,’ to provide a designated and dry meeting point, would be an ideal facility for older children. The group were encouraged by the positive response from teenagers who use the park when the idea was explained to them.
Such purpose-built equipment is very expensive to purchase and install. It is a great credit to the efforts of the volunteers of the Hartsholme Park Advisory Group that they were able to raise the necessary funds for this popular addition to the park.
