“We have already made considerable progress over recent years on improving our transport network and infrastructure. For instance, both the East-West link and Lincoln High Street Level Crossing Footbridge are now open and nearing completion; work on the Eastern bypass is imminent; more direct faster trains to London have been confirmed with enhanced cross country train services already in place; and Park & Ride discussions are beginning between Lincoln Business Improvement Group (Lincoln BIG) and Waitrose.
“But there is always more to do and these meetings will help us build on the progress we have already made and will allow us to move further forward together.”
Cllr Richard Davies, Executive Member for Transport & Highways at Lincolnshire County Council, added “Today's seminar was very constructive, with everyone committed to tackling the issues that are important to local people and businesses. There has been significant investment in the County's highways in recent years, and other major projects on the horizon, which will make a massive difference. Obviously, there is still work to be done, but I'm confident that together we make sure Lincolnshire has the right infrastructure in place for the future.”
