Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP, has offered his warm support to Bifrangi’s proposed new research and development centre on the former Smith-Clayton Forge on Spa Road in Lincoln. The news on the proposed research facility follows on from the company’s successful bid to secure Regional Growth Fund grants for the project. If approved by the City of Lincoln Council’s Planning Committee it would help createmeaningful permanent jobs in the City and opportunities for Lincoln students within the engineering sector.
Lincoln’s MP recently met with Sig Francesco Biasion and Sig Giuseppe Saretta the Chief Executive Officer and Director respectively at Bifrangi to talk about the project.
Karl McCartney MP said: “I was delighted that following on from my meeting Signor Biasion, Signor Saretta, as well as John Latham from Lincoln City Council we are moving forward to see this application determined by the City Council’s Planning Committee. I strongly endorse this proposal which will provide great employment opportunities for my constituents and help cement our City as a base for engineering.
“This application follows on from the £4.8million of RGF monies provided by the Government and I was pleased to be able to support this project at every turn, meeting with ministers down in Westminster and interested parties up here in Lincoln.
“Going forward I hope that the Planning Committee at the City Council will support their own officers recommendation to grant this proposal and therefore encourage further investment from a company which has already pumped in £50 million to our local economy.”
