I am deeply saddened, as will everyone across Lincoln, our Country and the Commonwealth, about the sad news today about HRH Queen Elizabeth II. My thoughts are with the Royal Family.
She will always be in our hearts as someone who was such a positive force for our Country and across the World, providing such a steady and guiding hand through the good times and bad. Her huge dedication to public service will be long remembered.
She was much loved in Lincoln as can be seen by the huge Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June this year. She is also fondly remembered for opening the University of Lincoln in 1996 and for those old enough, the opening of Pelham Bridge in 1958.
We will miss her greatly.
RIP Queen Elizabeth II
God Save the King
