Karl McCartney MP has welcomed new figures showing that the number of people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in Lincoln has fallen by 588 over the last year.
Karl McCartney MP said: “It is good that as a City we now have 588 fewer people on unemployment benefit over the last year. Of course there is much more to be done however I am pleased that we have taken this step in the right direction.
“With the economy growing and jobs being created by businesses like Bifrangi or Siemens it’s clear the Conservatives’ long-term economic plan is working, and the foundations of a broad based recovery are in place. We need to keep working through the plan, which is creating jobs, giving more people in Lincoln who want to work hard and get on the security of a regular pay packet they can bring home to their families.”
