The City of Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney JP MP, has welcomed the news that from Monday 15 August motorists will be able to use the new East-West Link Road for the first time.
The £22m road provides a direct link from the High Street (at its junction with Tentercroft Street) to Pelham Bridge and Canwick Road, meaning traffic can bypass the City Centre’s level crossings.
Karl McCartney JP MP, said: “I campaigned for, and helped to secure, the funding for this £22m project and am really pleased we are so near to its completion.
“Everyone who lives, works, shops or travels around, across and through our lovely City will benefit from the new East-West link.
“This road will make the lives of all of us in Lincoln and Lincolnshire easier.”
