Karl's response to today’s announcement of further central Government support for local councils.
“I am incredibly pleased to hear that the City of Lincoln has received an additional £622k to ensure it can continue providing services through this difficult time, and that North Kesteven District Council have also received £100k on top of the extra funds the Government provided earlier this year.
“This extra funding will play a crucial role during the winter to ensure my constituency has the resources it needs to fight Covid-19 and protect the most vulnerable of my constituents.
“But what I would also like to emphasise, is that the funding In the City needs to be spent in such a way as to ensure long-term financial stability and viability – this must be a priority for the Leader, Chief Executive and Labour City Councillors.
“I am delighted that the Conservative Government continues to back local councils in Lincolnshire with the funding they need to support their communities, recover lost income and protect vital services.”
The total funding provided for Lincoln since the pandemic began, now stands at £1,876,803 and for the County of Lincolnshire as a whole the figure is £44,508,582.
