Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP, has sponsored Siemens’ Parliamentary Reception, which took place in the Members’ Dining Room in the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday 25th March.
The networking event provided an opportunity for Parliamentarians and UK industry leaders to learn more about the depth and breadth of Siemens’ activities across the UK with a particular focus on the role the Company plays in the future security, sustainability and affordability of energy.
Karl McCartney MP said: “It was an honour to sponsor and address Siemens’ reception for MPs, Peers and UK industry leaders yesterday, on the same day they announced their decision to invest £160 million in wind turbine production and installation facilities in south Yorkshire at Hull.
“The event showcased the breadth of Siemens’ activities and the contribution this fantastic company makes to the UK economy and to many of our local economies. Indeed, Siemens are the largest employer in Lincolnshire and employ many of my City of Lincoln Constituents both at Pelham Bridge in the centre of our City and Teal Park on Whisby Road. I look forward to strengthening further the already very strong ties between Siemens and the people of Lincoln.”
