With respect to the decision by the High Court to allow a legal bid to challenge the Home Office's decision to use RAF Scampton as an immigration detention centre, Lincoln MP, Karl has stated that he is “very pleased that West Lindsey District Council has been successful in applying for a judicial review today. RAF Scampton should not be used as an immigration detention centre. It is even more unacceptable when it risks the regeneration of the base which will boost local jobs.
“I do find it absurd and shameless though, that Lincoln's Labour Party are also supporting the campaign against it, given they keep voting in Parliament against every single measure to deal with the illegal immigration they seem to want to enable? If they were to be elected, this country would be subject to even more illegal immigration. Maybe the local media should start asking some deeper questions to them about what they would do - and their duplicity/hypocrisy.”
