Last Friday, 15th July, Karl McCartney MP, Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, hosted a Summer Reception at Lincoln’s Cathedral Centre for some invited Trustees of circa 100 of Lincoln’s 300 plus Charities, which was kindly sponsored by Lindum Group, Wright Vigar and Andrew & Co Solicitors.
The event was also attended by over 150 people in total with decision makers and influencers from local business and our local authorities.
Karl McCartney JP MP, Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, said: “It was a privilege as ever to host this annual event and publicly say ‘thankyou’ to some of our local charity Trustees, the vast majority of whom are volunteers. My sincere thanks must also go to Lincoln businesses Lindum Group, Wright Vigar and Andrew & Co Solicitors for sponsoring the event and providing speakers on the day. I am pleased an enjoyable evening was had by all.
“Through my experiences in life prior to, and since, being elected in May 2010, I am well aware of the time, energy and resources that many individuals give gratis to fulfil roles in various charities and organisations across our City and County.
“The work that Trustees, governors and volunteers do is important because there are, in our community, individuals, businesses and charities that are often better placed than local or national Government to confront the problems our City, Country and society sometimes face. Charities enhance our ability to find solutions to the problems we face and are at the forefront of what has been termed our Big Society.
