The Member of Parliament for the City of Lincoln, Karl McCartney MP, is looking forward to joining VisitBritain on an exciting opportunity to champion inbound tourism Lincoln.
From 5 to 7 March 2016, VisitBritain will be taking a delegation of buyers from Italy, Spain and Mexico to the East Midlands for a Familiarisation Trip. This will include a number of events between 5 and 6 March in the City of Lincoln, such as a dinner at the Victorian Prison in Lincoln Castle, Evensong at the Cathedral, a viewing of Lincoln Guildhall and Stonebow, and History hunting in Lincoln Castle. To finish the visit the International Delegation will have dinner at Burton Road Chippy – considered by many to be the UK's best independent chip shop.
Karl McCartney MP, said: “I am really looking forward to meeting with the Delegation from Italy, Spain and Mexico to discuss the tourism opportunities in Lincoln and to show them the distinctive and attractive tourist offer in our beautiful and historic Cathedral City.
“Visits by delegations such as these are a fantastic way for me as the local Member of Parliament to champion tourism-related businesses and jobs in our City and promote Lincoln to international visitors."
As the UK’s strategic body for inbound tourism, VisitBritain are responsible for promoting Britain and its nations and regions worldwide. They aim to grow export earnings from inbound tourism, which is currently worth £26.2 billion a year to the British economy, and deliver jobs and growth across the country by working in partnership with government, industry and the National Boards.
