Karl McCartney MP has welcomed new figures showing that Conservative policies are helping people onto the housing ladder.
- 130 new homes have been started in Lincoln in the 12 months to March 2014.
- 24 hardworking families have been able to find an affordable mortgage and buy their own home thanks to the Conservative’s Help to Buy schemes.
- 56 families have been able to purchase their council house since we increased the Right to Buy discounts available to tenants.
Karl McCartney MP said: “Labour’s Great Recession led to a collapse in housebuilding and meant hardworking people in all parts of the Country were unable to secure a place on the housing ladder.
“That’s why the Conservatives, as part of our long-term economic plan, launched Help to Buy and reinvigorated Right to Buy so that more people could secure a place on the housing ladder. Since Help to Buy was launched, 24 families in Lincoln have been able to buy their own home while 56 people have been able to purchase their council house.
“With 130 new homes currently under construction in Lincoln, even more families will now be able to achieve their dream of owning their own home and enjoy greater financial security thanks to the Conservatives.”
